content of the soluble fiber pectin in bananas, they are very soothing to the
gastrointestinal tract. The pectin helps to normalize bowel function and has
shown some promise for treating peptic ulcers. Bananas contain compounds called
protease inhibitors which help eliminate harmful bacteria like H. Pylori, which
is considered responsible for the majority of stomach ulcers.

The banana originated
